If you want to change the way Chrome looks, you can add a custom Virtual Store theme. There are thousands to choose from, and some simply change the color of the browser window, others add detailed background images to the entire browser. Installing themes is as simple as installing an application or extension. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click the Google Apps shortcut next to the Bookmarks Bar.
Step 2: A tab will open with all the applications installed in that Google Chrome session. There, click the Chrome Virtual Store or Chrome Web Store.
Step 3: Select the Themes option in the category panel on the left side of the screen.
Step 4: A lot of designs and themes will appear with which you can customize your browser. Click on the theme you want to apply to the browser and a window will open with all its features.
Step 5: Click on the button in the top right corner of the theme description window. That’s it! You’ll see that your browser changes colors according to the theme you’ve chosen.
Deleting a Theme
If you don’t like a theme after it’s installed, or you’d just like to go back to the theme the browser had at the beginning, you can reset the original Chrome theme. Let’s see how to do that:
Step 1: Click the Configure button on the right side of the address bar.
Step 2: A drop-down menu will open. There you select the Configuration option.
Step 3: The configuration page appears. Look for the Appearance section there. Then click the Reset to Default Theme button to remove the installed theme.
Adding and Deleting a Bookmark
Have you ever visited a website that you wanted to be able to see again later, but then didn’t remember the web address? Well, there’s a solution.
In all browsers, you can bookmark pages as favorites to revisit them whenever you want, without having to remember their address or URL. The particularity in Chrome is that these pages are no longer called Favorites, but Bookmarks, but their function is the same.
A bookmark is a page you bookmark so you can quickly access it without having to remember the web address.
How to add a Bookmark:
You can save any page you are currently viewing in Chrome as a Favourite or Bookmark. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Once you’re on the page you want to bookmark, click the bookmarks button.
You’ll recognize it because it’s star-shaped and on the right side of the address bar.
You’ll see that when you bookmark the page, the button will turn blue.
Step 2: A dialog box will appear where you can change the name of the page you are bookmarking to another and select the folder where you want to save it, such as Bookmarks Bar. This option will be selected by default.
Step 3: When you’re finished, click the button. If you chose to save the page in the Bookmarks Bar folder, then a shortcut to the page just below the Address Bar will appear.
Deleting a Bookmark:
Step 1: Go to the page that you no longer want to be one of your bookmarks, and click on the Favorites button, which is star-shaped and located on the right side of the address bar.
Step 2: A dialog box will open. Click the Remove button, and the page will disappear from your bookmarks.
The Bookmarks Bar is a good place to have your favorite websites. However, space is small, and you can only see some of the pages you have there. If you are going to use bookmarks regularly, you need to learn more about their organization in the Bookmark Manager.
Open the Bookmark Manager.
The Bookmark Manager will help you organize your bookmarks or favorite pages into folders, delete pages or folders you no longer use and search for bookmarks you can’t find.
To open the Bookmark Manager, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click the Configure button in the upper-right corner of your browser next to the Address bar.
Step 2: A drop-down menu will open. Click on the Favorites option.
Step 3: You will see that another menu will open, where you must click on the Bookmark Manager option.
Step 4: The Bookmark Manager will open, and you’ll see a list of all the pages you’ve bookmarked and the folders in which you can organize those bookmarks.
Remember that you can also create additional folders there.
